We had the privilege of being involved with a very special project that we finished up last week. A whole home renovation where the current owner’s children will be the 6th generation to cherish the craftsmanship and beauty of this century old farmhouse!
This home had good bones which allowed us to honor its’ character all while making it a comfortable and functional space for it’s homeowners again. In this home you will find original hardwood floors, trim, doors, ceiling beams, and staircase showcasing the exquisite workmanship of the past. The fireplace is a near replica of the original, removing the chimney to house a new gas insert. Even the exterior brick was carefully preserved and cleaned by friends and family of the homeowners so it could be returned to its rightful place on the front porch, with a new color of mortar to make the brick pop.
Seamlessly blending the old with the new, the back of the home is an addition that houses the open concept kitchen, new family room, and a mudroom. One of our favorite things about the kitchen is the glass pantry door that was original to the home. We were able to modify the floor plan to fit a half bath and laundry room on the main level, while having two full bathrooms on the second level, and another half bath on the third level. This home has 5 bedrooms and sits on a new foundation, with additional unfinished space. It was a true honor to bring this home’s original charm, with a touch of modern living, back to life.
A special shoutout to our sales manager, Chris, and project manager, Vince, along with all of our talented trade partners for their passion to help continue this family’s legacy and preserve their home for many more generations.
